“The Unknown Woman” is
Irena, an emigrant who fled Eastern Europe and has moved to a Northern
Italian city. She lives amidst ghosts of the past and a search
for the present, two planes of time that make up an intriguing
puzzle. This is a twisted mystery thrill ride with strong
characters, well crafted camerawork, and a masterful cast—all of which
will leave you breathless. Giuseppe Tornatore known for "The
Professor", “Malena” and "Cinema Paradiso" directs this dark and
brutal film about the impossibility and hopelessness in trying to run
away from a past that will, inevitably, follow.
