“SWEET
LAND”
Coachella Valley
Premiere
When
Lars Torvikis’ grandmother Inge dies, he is faced with a
decision: Sell the family farm on which she had lived since 1920
or cling to the legacy of the land. Seeking advice he turns to
the stories that she had passed on to him. A young Inge, a mail
order bride and German refugee from the First World War, arrived on the
farm that became her lifelong home in 1920. Olaf and Inge must
first learn to understand each other and then find acceptance in a time
of prejudice, suspicion and economic peril.
“An unforgettable, touching, intense family saga telling of a time, a
place and a generation too long overlooked by history. The
performances are impeccable and the film deeply moving.” Jeffrey
Lyons, NBC
“A triumph of inventive storytelling…intelligently written, brilliantly
cast…never hits a wrong note.” Ronnie Scheib, Daily Variety
